Tonia Nifong
ICDF Diploma Graduate [USA]
Dance has always been a huge part of my heart and my relationship with Jesus, as I believe dance pictures the fullness of life Christ offers us – body, spirit, and soul. Dance is both a practical and spiritual tool for healing, wholeness, deliverance, and intimacy with Jesus. I’ve danced since I was a child, studying ballet, contemporary, lyrical, and modern dance styles, continuing at the college level and then finishing the ICDF Diploma in dance ministry. I’ve also had the privilege of serving as the Associate Director for Flourish Arts, a redemptive dance and arts ministry, while also dancing with their dance ministry company (Flourish Dance Co) and teaching in their community arts program. Most recently, I’ve started 40:31 Dance Collective. I’m working on teaching workshops, prophetic choreography, scripture-based breath prayer movement, and more. Outside of dance, I’m a mom to two boys, and I work in communications for a nonprofit called Young Life.
ICDF Diploma testimonial
The ICDF Diploma of dance ministry was an amazing experience and provided resources and experiences to clarify the stirring I felt in my heart toward dance and ministry. The program provided practical, hands-on training and material, while also giving me the freedom to pursue what God has called me to personally with dance. I also had the privilege of attending an international conference in India, where I got to share my academic work and choreography.
